In the last couple of months we have been fortunate to go out on "Montego" (a 60ft yacht) with our friends, Colin (an experienced sailor) and Nina (and their daughter Zoe). We had a "practice day" with Jett to watch the start of the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race ...Jett's sea legs fared well! Colin skippered the boat with Monty (the owner) and a great group of people aboard. We then were fortunate to spend a weekend with Colin and Nina on the boat over the long weekend in May and we went over to Tangalooma Beach on Moreton Island with them and their daughter Zoe. Jett was a good little sailor. Because there is so much room aboard, he quite happily played and checked out the lower decks and had his own life jacket for trips ashore on the beach. He ate and slept really well (even with some swell) and continued to use his favourite word "up" when climbing at a rate of knots up the stairs to check out the main sail (with high volumes of adults following his every move!...luckily we could keep him in safe areas so he didn't get to run around amongst the rigging...not that he wouldn't have loved that!). A great weekend.

Tangalooma is great! I love the fact that it is in the middle of nature - Dolphins and whales - and yet its only an hour cruise from brisbane city. Also, there were plenty of safe activities for the whole family to enjoy.
I found the Tangalooma website really useful for information on how to get to Tangalooma / moreton island and planning activities.
